Hearty Black Beans

A delicious and comforting dish featuring hearty black beans and savory turkey bacon.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup black beans
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the turkey bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove and chop into pieces.
  2. In the same skillet, sauté the onion and garlic until softened.
  3. Add the bell pepper, cumin, and smoked paprika. Cook for another few minutes.
  4. Stir in the black beans, chicken broth, diced tomatoes, and cooked turkey bacon.
  5. Bring to a simmer and cook for 20 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, omit turkey bacon.
  • Feel free to add any additional vegetables you like.
