Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add melted butter, eggs, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Gradually add flour until a dough forms. Knead for about 5-10 minutes.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  5. Punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle.
  6. Spread softened butter over dough, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Roll tightly and slice into equal pieces.
  8. Place slices in a greased baking dish and let rise again for 30 minutes.
  9. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes.
  10. While baking, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla for the frosting.
  11. Once rolls are cool, spread frosting on top.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use milk instead of water when melting butter.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
