Simple Macaroni and Cheese

A creamy, delicious macaroni and cheese recipe with a twist of turkey bacon.

  • 8 ounces elbow macaroni
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup cooked turkey bacon, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Slowly whisk in the milk, and cook until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add the cheese, turkey bacon, salt, and pepper to the sauce and stir until the cheese is melted.
  5. Toss the cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce until well coated.
  6. Serve hot.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add jalapeños.
  • You can substitute the turkey bacon for regular bacon if desired.
