- 8 ounces elbow macaroni
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 3 cups milk
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup cooked turkey bacon, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Cook the macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Slowly whisk in the milk, and cook until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.
- Add the cheese, turkey bacon, salt, and pepper to the sauce and stir until the cheese is melted.
- Toss the cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce until well coated.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add jalapeños.
- You can substitute the turkey bacon for regular bacon if desired.
