  • 1 cup unsalted butter, chilled
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 3 medium-sized apples, peeled and chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixer, combine the flour and sugar. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Add the egg and mix until dough forms. Chill for 30 minutes.
  4. Roll out the dough and cut into circles.
  5. Mix chopped apples with cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugars.
  6. Place a spoonful of the apple mixture and a drizzle of caramel in the center of each dough circle.
  7. Fold dough over and seal edges.
  8. Brush the tops with beaten egg.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
