Moong Dal Chilla

Moong Dal Chilla is a delicious and nutritious pancake made from yellow split mung beans. Perfect for breakfast or a light meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup moong dal (split yellow mung beans)
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup tomato, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons coriander leaves, chopped
  • 1/2 cup water (as needed)
  • 2 tablespoons oil (for cooking)

Instructions

  1. Soak the moong dal in water for 4-6 hours or overnight.
  2. Drain the water and blend the dal into a smooth batter, adding water as needed.
  3. Mix turmeric, cumin seeds, salt, green chili, onion, tomato, and coriander into the batter.
  4. Heat a non-stick pan and pour a ladle of batter, spreading it into a circle.
  5. Drizzle some oil around the edges and cook until golden brown on one side.
  6. Flip and cook the other side until golden brown.
  7. Repeat with the remaining batter.

Notes

  • Serve with chutney or yogurt.
  • Adjust spices according to your taste.
