Hearty Comfort Slow Cooker Beef Manhattan

A delicious and hearty slow cooker recipe combining beef and turkey bacon for a comforting meal.

  • 2 pounds beef chuck roast
  • 6 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 medium carrots, sliced
  • 3 medium potatoes, cubed
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, cook turkey bacon until crispy, then set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, sear the beef on all sides until browned.
  3. Place the beef in the slow cooker and add onions, garlic, carrots, potatoes, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and pepper.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 4 hours.
  5. Once cooked, remove the beef and shred it. Mix cornstarch and water, then stir it into the slow cooker to thicken the sauce.
  6. Return the shredded beef to the slow cooker and mix well.
  7. Serve with crispy turkey bacon on top.

Notes

  • This recipe can be customized with your favorite vegetables.
  • If you prefer a spicier dish, add red pepper flakes.
