  • 28 ounces crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook the turkey bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  2. Add olive oil to the skillet, then sauté the onion until translucent.
  3. Add garlic and cook until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, salt, pepper, sugar, oregano, and red pepper flakes.
  5. Bring to a simmer, then reduce the heat and let it cook for about 20 minutes.
  6. Chop the cooked turkey bacon and stir it back into the sauce. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  7. Finish with fresh basil and serve over spaghetti.
