2 cups orzo pasta
1 pound cooked chicken, shredded
1 cup turkey bacon, chopped
2 cups French onion soup
1 cup shredded cheese (gruyere or similar)
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large pot, cook orzo according to package instructions; drain.
In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked orzo, shredded chicken, chopped turkey bacon, French onion soup, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and half of the cheese.
Mix well and transfer to a greased baking dish.
Top with remaining cheese.
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
Feel free to add vegetables like spinach or mushrooms for extra nutrition.
Leftover cooked chicken works great for this recipe.
