Easy Decorated Halloween Cupcakes

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 batch frosting (your choice)
  • decorations (e.g. candy eyes, sprinkles)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the dry ingredients together until combined.
  3. Add in the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla, and mix until smooth.
  4. Slowly stir in the boiling water until the batter is well combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the cupcake liners, filling them about 2/3 full.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let the cupcakes cool completely before frosting.
  8. Decorate with frosting and your favorite Halloween decorations.

Notes

  • For extra fun, use different colors for the frosting.
  • Add spooky decorations like spider web designs with icing.
