Ingredients

  • 1 prime rib roast
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup beef broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix together garlic, rosemary, thyme, salt, pepper, and olive oil to create a paste.
  3. Rub the paste all over the prime rib roast.
  4. Place the roast in a roasting pan and insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the meat.
  5. Roast for 15 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 325°F (163°C) and continue to roast until the thermometer reads your desired doneness.
  6. Allow the roast to rest for at least 20 minutes before slicing.
  7. Serve with beef broth if desired.
