Christmas Eve Lasagna

Experience a delightful twist on a classic dish with this Christmas Eve Lasagna, featuring turkey bacon and chicken ham.

  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 4 ounces turkey bacon, chopped
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, cook the ground turkey and turkey bacon over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  4. Add marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. In a baking dish, spread a layer of the meat sauce on the bottom. Layer 3 lasagna noodles, half the ricotta cheese, half the mozzarella cheese, and another layer of meat sauce. Repeat layers, finishing with noodles and remaining mozzarella on top.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  7. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, consider adding spinach or other vegetables to the layers.
  • Let the lasagna sit for a bit after baking for better serving.
