  • 2 pounds chicken thighs
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon five-spice powder
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, five-spice powder, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, and food coloring together.
  2. Marinate chicken thighs in this mixture for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
  3. Preheat your grill or oven to medium-high heat.
  4. Cook chicken for about 20-25 minutes, turning occasionally, until nicely charred and cooked through.
