Apple Chicken Meatballs

A delicious twist on traditional meatballs using healthy turkey and apple for added flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 cup apples, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 2 slices turkey bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the ground turkey, chopped apples, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, turkey bacon, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into meatballs about 1 inch in diameter.
  4. Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through.

Notes

  • For added moisture, consider adding a tablespoon of applesauce to the mixture.
  • Serve with a side of greens or over whole-grain pasta.
